Mmhmm, this ever stylish photo that I pulled from the ever addicting and captivating website we know best as Pinterest is so chic and fierce that I was toying with the idea of submitting it to dictionary.com to reinforce what exactly ‘chic’ and ‘fierce’ really are all about. Well, I wasn’t really planning on doing that but this entire ensemble definitely epitomizes what being stylish is all about. I just loved it enough to share with you for your own fashion-related joy. I know we’re in the anticipation stage for fall and although this particular look, especially with this color palette, is a bit on the spring/summer side, it still works for the hot and hazy final days we’ll be experiencing until summer has officially come to a close. However, change up the denim color to something darker or more neutral (or something along the line of wine, haha!) and voila, an instant fall look. Not to mention that I have that exact same bib necklace, which I adore.

So fierce, gotta love it.

Need to change up your weekend look? This may not apply to all of you but in my neck of the woods, the weather this weekend is supposed to be beautiful! Therefore, choose your outfits accordingly.

Make your Saturday night outfit chic and unique by wearing a simple, solid-colored dress or a flowy shirt with leggings or dark wash jeans accompanied with HUGE accessories. I’m not talking just a chunky necklace or hoop earrings, I mean accessories whose size tips the scale a bit. It’s fun but not flashy because the rest of the outfit is kept simple.

Find fun accessories at asos.com; polyvore.com; shopstyle.com; topshop.com; H&M stores.

Brighten up your Sunday afternoon with a citrus-inspired top mixed with a fun and colorful, floral-patterned skirt or shorts. As in the following photo, a basic tangerine top paired with a floral peplum skirt and some cool turquoise jewelry gets you in the spirit of this time of year.

Whatever you do, mix it up and spice it up. It’s better that way.

Awhile back I posted about Paris fashion trends for fall of 2011, one of which involved the ultra feminine and structured peplum skirt. If you feel comfortable in pencil skirts but also love the fun of pleats and flare, the peplum is like the lovechild of the two. Not only is this stacked look with a flared top over a fitted bottom a favored look for skirts and dresses, it’s also becoming big with shirts, believe it or not, where the flare sits at the bottom and the body hugging happens at the top.

It’s also fun to pair a peplum shirt with a regular pencil skirt. Monochromatic peplum dresses or two-toned peplum dresses inspire a vintage, classic, and lady-like silhouette. Celebrities love the look and you may find yourself sporting peplum this spring and summer.
