Anthropologie Foil Linen Blazer; $178

The foil trend; some love it, some hate it, and others don’t understand it because they don’t know how to wear it. I personally love it and I have a great appreciation for anyone who has enough confidence and edge to incorporate foil pieces into their outfits. It’s been prominent with things like tanks, shorts, and tops, but what about more substantial pieces? In other words, would you elect to wear a foil blazer to work or when going out with friends or your beau on a weekend date? Upon browsing Anthropologie‘s new arrivals on their website, I stumbled upon the foil linen blazer and I actually kind of love it. When paired with a simple black top, dark wash jeans or leggings, and maybe a patent leather heel of some sort, the look can translate into something of sophistication and pizazz.

Some critics may think of it as being futuristic or tacky, but I think it’s really stylish when done the right way (of course). It takes the right kind of person to pull off certain trends, especially more extreme ones, but with a little courage and some solid fashion advice, anyone can rock a foil blazer if they really want to 😉 So what do you guys think?

Apparently spring is bringing about a blossoming trend of floral denim; I’m all for colored denim (as you’d know from previous posts), but I don’t know how I feel about printed denim, particularly floral denim. It just doesn’t scream “TREND!” to me. Nevertheless, I do have a soft spot for floral patterns on fun and feminine skirts. Paired with a solid top, they’re charming and beautiful.

If you’re feeling a bit of disinterest in the sequin embellished NYE dresses from the preceding post, then maybe you should opt for another kind of shiny alternative. In other words, behold the power of the polished shine look. It’s a little less flashy and a bit less glamorous, but it’s still gorgeous, polished, and totally appropriate for a fanciful party to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another. This particular A-line dress boasts a whimsical vibe complete with pleats, an attached bow belt at the waist, and an overall very retro silhouette. This flirty little number comes from Anthropologie for $388.
